Bill leads the firm’s Financial Advisory Services (FAS) Practice and has been a Principal at Shea Labagh Dobberstein since 2014. Before starting up the FAS practice, he had served as the firm’s senior M&A consultant assisting clients in sell-side engagements, locating debt sources and engaged in post-merger litigation support. Bill had also overseen the firm’s business development and marketing activities.
Previously, Bill had a 30-year career as an M&A accounting and finance executive, a turnaround CFO, a turnaround private equity investor and a banker. He was previously with PricewaterhouseCoopers, Bank of America and Recovery Equity Partners.
Originally from London, England, Bill graduated from San Jose State University and holds an MBA from Thunderbird Graduate School (Arizona State University). He has lectured at the Haas School of Business at UC Berkeley, and previously taught accounting at Golden Gate University, San Francisco. Bill is the former President of San Francisco’s Hillhouse Club, past Secretary and Board Member of ACG-San Francisco, and former elected Councilmember and President of the Board of Kensington, California.
Bill lives in San Francisco. He also plays guitar in a rock band.
