Ed has more than thirty years of experience in public accounting providing tax services, business advice and strategy consulting to assist privately-held companies and their owners with income and estate tax matters. This includes significant work in the real estate and restaurant sectors, as well as extensive experience in the sophisticated planning for partnerships.
His legal background gives him a unique perspective when it comes to coordinating a comprehensive planning model for his clients in the area of tax planning.
Ed started his accounting career with Ernst & Young (E&Y), LLP’s Boston office. In 1991, he transferred to E&Y’s National Tax Department in Washington, DC, where he specialized in real estate, partnership and S-corporation taxation. In his time at E&Y’s national real estate group, Ed authored articles in The Journal of Partnership Taxation.
Ed also served as a tax counsel at GE Capital Corporation’s headquarters in Stamford, CT, before returning to public accounting at a regional accounting firm in New England in 1998. SLD recruited Ed to the West Coast in 2002.
Ed received his Bachelor’s degree in History and Economics, Cum Laude, from Harvard College in 1983. He obtained his Juris Doctor, Cum Laude, from Boston College Law School in 1986. He was admitted to the Massachusetts bar in 1986.
