Yvonne grew up in Nanjing, China, just outside of Shanghai. After finishing high school, she moved to Nagoya, Japan – a sister-city of Nanjing. Without any prior knowledge of Japanese, she managed to learn the language over three months and gain entry into Aichi-Gakuin University, where the majority of the students are Japanese. Always up for a challenge, it is here that she received her Bachelor’s degree in Business and Commerce in 2006. Following this, Yvonne studied English in Los Angeles, and then attended the University of Idaho, where she graduated with a degree in Master of Accountancy.
Yvonne now lives in SOMA with her husband. She is working on her CPA and has already passed the first portion of the exams. When not studying or working, she likes to hike in the mountains, explore the really great Asian food San Francisco offers and be with her friends. “There are so many activities and random festivities going on in San Francisco that there’s always something to do. I love that about the City,” says Yvonne.
Yvonne enjoys working with Shea Labagh Dobberstein. Yvonne explains, “The people here are very nice and great to work with. They are knowledgeable and always willing to help answer questions.” She is excited about the new responsibilities she has been given. “I look forward to having increased interaction with our clients and building on these relationships. I’ll also have the opportunity to work more broadly to move projects to completion. From planning, assigning jobs, supervising, helping the staff and ensuring the projects meet their deadlines, I am excited about the new challenges of this role.”
Interesting facts: Yvonne is an only child. She is busy studying for the third portion of her CPA exam.
Next vacation spot: Yvonne loves the beach. She traveled all of Japan and really liked the beaches off of Osaka Okinawa. Last year, she took a cruise to the Eastern Caribbean, and plans to possibly visit Tahiti next.
