Many small businesses don’t have a solid grasp of their retirement plan fees, according to a survey conducted by The Pew Charitable Trusts. In fact, one-third say they are ‘not at all’ familiar with the specifics. Just under half of employers surveyed had read and understood their fee disclosure notifications in the past year. This limited knowledge of fees can be detrimental to workers’ retirement savings, as well as to managers and owners who serve as fiduciaries to the plan.
